Rather than hijack Leon's post 'Seen today' I've started a new thread. I'm walking in the Forest of Dean on an insect shoot and I come across Fallow Deer. I have my 100mm macro lens on the camera, no time to change the lens, it's an animal I've not photographed before and I'm not going to miss getting a shot. This has happened more than once and I'm just happy to come away with these shots.... some times it's better to get something than nothing at all...Nuff said.

Some nice captures there John.

They are not prize winners Kev... but I was dead chuffed on both occasions and I know one day I will be in the right place at the right time with the right lens fitted... well I hope so anyway... :yes

Hi John,

Absolutely you just have to go for it regardless of what you are set up for, nice pics though considering you were set up for macro I love the first one you can see the deer,s senses working overtime.

cheers

Ron

The second one was on high alert as she was about to give birth at any moment by the look of her.
