Hi All,

 

My first time at East Kirkby airshow and we had some mixed weather. Still, it was a good show and I managed a few good (I think) shots.

 

The star of the venue - the lovely Lancaster, Just Jane - which is on the road to air worthiness and currently does ground taxi runs:

nice set   and East Kirkby is always worth a visit, if you fancy an early run this weekend to Raf Coningsby the only two flying Lancasters should be around

I'm going to see them at Gransden, Duxford or Shoreham and then I am booked for the 3 Lancaster experience at East Kirkby again early September

I am booked for the 3 Lancaster experience at East Kirkby again early September

 

 

I looked at that but I'm not sure how well that will work with two on a flyby and one on the floor? I think it will be a good test of skills to get all 3 in one shot as the 2 will not be landing - and with 5000 tickets sold means a bit of a crush. Although with the other events throughout the day, weather permitting should be good. I'll look forward to seeing our pictures.

I'm off to see the two lancs flying at Sywell airshow Northampton on the 17th Aug, I will try to get a decent shot of those, but as usual will probably fluff it up completely!

Fantastic set, JW - something we couldn't get to see, and way beyond my skills to catch them like you have anyway!! Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed the viewing over my morning coffee

I'm more there to witness it than photograph it, it'll be a memorable event for sure.
