Superb shot John. Taken from Whitcliffe area?

Thanks Terry... yes I walked from the town, over Dinham bridge and up the steps leading into the wood and on to the grassy area alongside Whitcliffe Road where I took some shots.

I love this shot. What a magnificent place so much history, a major base during the war of the roses, and so much scenery too....wonderful picture John.

Thank you Annie... much appreciated.

This is just the sort of place I am in my element.............I just adore our history, and I love these places that hold so much of our history. I could sit all day just looking at that scene..........

Beaches...........................beaches! I am a complete an utter beach bum, I can be on the beach before sunrise and still there at sunset...Brian hates my love of beaches...! I can spend hours in rock pools, and hours strolling, just to stroll back again, but I hate piers...piers with arcades and amusements, I hate seaside places with amusements...I am a funny old sort Brian says..lol! I love nothing, I like the peace and quiet of nothing.

Doing an enjoyable catch-up here, John, and this one sent me running!!

When we returned to UK after our first Aussie years, we travelled around for almost 12 months, and I remember visiting Ludlow Castle. We had a look around, and we saw a performance of Hamlet, conducted on the ramparts and towers. - I still remember 'Alas, poor Yorick' and 'To be or not to be', being spoken in those fantastic surroundings.

Headed to my collection of old photos and found these two, which I have scanned, from that day in August, 1961 I would have taken these with my first camera - a Box Brownie:

Thanks for letting me see this lovely, historic place one again, ( and nicer than I did it!) - and for bringing back such great memories!!
