Today has been sunny  but with frequent heavy showers. I've been out in the garden looking for bugs (the neighbours must think I've gone mad crawling around on all fours) then back inside to see what I caught on camera.

This fly was on the fence all afternoon. I took just short of 100 pics and this is the nearest I came to being in focus.

I think this is a Springtail. It was running around the top of a plastic plant pot and I discovered I could focus on a point in front of it and wait for it to arrive.

This fly seemed to have a damaged wing so was easy pray for the camera

When the rain came I took pics of flowers indoors

No wonder insects love these Lilies, just look at the choice of food and drink

This little fella crawled out of the bird bath. It was only 3mm in length but looks like it was gold plated

Can anyone recommend a good website for identifying garden wildlife?

Martyn, you have definitely cracked this Macro lark :-)

All the insect shots of late have inspired me to dig out my Macro kit, all the flash batteries charged, a new and longer reflector/diffuser snoot made from a Pound Shop sealable container.

But, I wake up this morning to dreary skies, pouring rain and the threat of thunder later .....Hey Ho!.......That's Life!

Talking of rechargeable batteries, our local 99p shop had a stock of AA rechargeables, a twin pack for just that price, I bought four packs, they are brilliant. I'm thinking that the owners of these stores buy up surplus stock, because mixed up amongst all the usual tat, there are branded items, I have a mooch around in there at least twice a week.
