Sparrows in the back garden

Paul

Recommended Posts

Our front garden gets a couple of dozen sometimes, but its not good for  photography - no doors or windows to open onto the bushes for viewing.

I did this short clip when I lived in the sticks, broadband was terrible. I originally uploaded it to Youtube and it took over 3 hours to upload...

Hope the link works OK.

Nice set Paul. Just noticed you have a Sigma 150-500. Were these shot with it and how do you rate the lens over all.

It's a nice lens. Only real problems is it doesn't focus overly fat, and it is a slow aperture once you hit 300mm - goes to f/6.3 but having said that, the distance it gives on a cropped sensor means I can capture birds like never before.

It can yield slightly soft images at the top of the zoom, but careful sharpening in the edit stage works really well.

Paul.
