Following on regarding turning photos into paintings, two of my sister's dogs - both of the same age and firm friends.

Oh they really do look like pals Fogey ... It's always  good to experiment   I see that you have darkened the lower area of the background and added a shadow  to  give a base  to the  image  to prevent the two dogs from floating in mid air . I think it could do with that lower area being  darkened a  bit more...maybe a  faintly darker horizon level with the spaniels eyes and gradually darkening towards the  foreground  would  ground the dogs a bit more . Just a suggestion  and it may   not  be the effect  that   you want...  They are two lovely looking dogs  and it's a  great composition . It is fun to play with effects you can use  with  a lot of software nowadays isn't it ....

Thank you for your insight Clicker - it is hard to know when to stop, isn't it.  Darken or increase colour?  Hmmm!  The choices increase as I think.

I sometimes finish up with a dozen variations once I start … yeah sometimes too many choices !
