This is the Customs House and watchtower on Roa island. The tower section has been removed because it bacame unstable, but there are plans to restore this building to it's former glory. I hate the modern concrete walls that ruin the view of this fine building.

 

 

The whole building is covered with pebbles from the beach for protection from the elements

 

 

There was a feint mist in the air and the moisture helped bring out the colour of the cobbles which are inlaid in a chevron pattern

 

 

 

The soft sandstone isn't surviving the harsh conditions the same way as the cobbles
