The trouble with a deserted beach ....

Recommended Posts

It  seems that not even a dog walker or beachcomber  was  available to give me added focus and  a sense of perspective and as  my other half was inspecting some  rock formation  75  yards  or so behind me  I  had to make do with the tiny oil tanker on the horizon !😂

Hmmm I  think on this occasion I may disagree with you Steve ...     I think the sky is the leading lady on this stage  ...and far more interesting than the sandy beach . Had it been an entire reflection of the sky I might have considered an horizon in the middle but as a rule I  nearly always avoid  splitting an image in  half .... in my experience it rarely works  and though rules are there to be broken in some cases to cause a tension or the dynamics  of an image , I think the rule of thirds works  in most cases  ... but hey it's just my opinion and  it's really appreciated that  your analysis  stimulates  constructive discussion ... I do agree that  in cases of real symmetry,  a central horizon can work ...  So  thanks  for your input Steve ...   it is appreciated .... You always give  us food for thought 😉

Thank you  Cheryl ... to be fair  as long as one gets   the composition balanced and  the horizon level,  one is hard pressed not to take a decent photo  when you get  skies like this on a regular basis . Trying to capture something that is a bit different is the challenge ....
