My resident female.

My resident female SPIDER, that is... She lives in the outhouse and has done for maybe 3 or 4 years now. And she is getting very large, and very feisty! When I try to move her with my fingers, she is as likely to stand her ground than move away like most spiders do...

Exif:

f/13, 1/250th sec, flash via trigger, ISO 100.

Definitely best viewed LARGE!!!

Paul, how lucky are you to be able to enjoy this presence of Nature for so long, most of ours don't seem to survive more than a season!!

Lovely pictures of your 'little friend'. Particularly like the angle in the last.

Quite a few Tegenaria species will take two years to reach maturity. Females may live for three years in total, and in captivity may live longer (especially if they don't breed). My outhouse may be perfect for a long life...

Thanks for the comment too.  :)
