Eunice's handiwork....via my iPhone.

Heard a big thud about 4.45 pm .... storm  Eunice had  calmed down quite a bit and there was sunshine and  some blue sky... went down to check the trees around the pond again and found this !     Mother Nature can be fierce can't she ... it's the spot where  I took the photos a couple of weeks ago showing the horses in the early morning mist .

Luckily they had been moved  two days ago !

And just  to give some size perspective ...!

Glad it missed your place Poly. No structural damage locally. The most annoying thing was that the council changed our recycling collection day from Wednesday to Friday and failed to turn up. So the entire streets recycling is all over the place !

Yeah …just a tad scary …    I remember the ‘87 storm and that was  scary as it was during the night and I thought the roof was going to come off our old 18th century cottage on the Norfolk Broads.  We didn’t have such big trees in the vicinity  so we were lucky then  .   Sounds like your council people weren’t thinking ahead very far … Eunice was anticipated by the Weather people in plenty of time for them to have realised Friday was a bad day  to have loads of bins on the pavements 🙄

I was stuck on a farm in Devon during the big one of 87. I had loaded 26 tonnes of milk powder but couldnt leave as there were 327 trees down on the one and only road out.

Took the highway people, the council and all the local farmers three days to clear !
