Before the Harvest

Well, I guess I have to start somewhere.

This is my first post and I don't really know what I'm doing, so please bear with me.

On my way home from town the other day, I thought I'd stop and have a little session at this cornfield. Took a few shots and dashed home to see what they looked like on the computer. I was quite pleased but had a few ideas that I thought might improve them. So when I went back today, I was horrified to find the harvester had been in and cut the lot!

Not bad at all! You've got a nice simple composition, with a clear divide between sky and wheatfield, and just two contrasting colours. My only criticism is I think it's slightly over-exposed : half a stop less and you would have a greater richness of colour in the blue & gold. So I'd say you DO know what you're doing.

Ahh, blue skies, Barley gently rustling in the slightest of breeze............

...and we are in the midst of winter, with what seems a permanent grey cloud bank stretched across southern england!

Welcome to the forum!
