I just couldn't get Mr Bumble sharp enough... I had the shutter speed at 1/8000 sec.
Try... Try... Try again I think...

The shot was taken using my 250mm lens at 163mm.
The brown background was actually a fence which was quite a distance away...
I have to admit that I was really shocked that the blurred background came out that blurry...
All I can think of is the compression of the image due to the focal length used...?

Photographing any insects in flight is very challenging, so you did well to catch it....

The plant is very sharp but the blurring of the background suggests the depth of field was quite narrow so it may be that the bee had just moved out of the area of sharp focus.  The composition works very well though.

Yes I think you could well be right about the Aperture...
I will have a look and see what it was..

Craig agree that it is a shame the flower is in focus and not the bee, but also agree that the composition is good, and the background colour too. They are not easy to catch in flight so well done anyway.

Yeah I agree, I think the Aperture was set too low.
