DISCOVERED A GEM

Recommended Posts

I'm over the moon today...Why ?

Because these are results of  the first test of an absolute gem of a Vintage Film Lens.....a CARL ZEISS JENA 2.8-29 mm  Made in the German Democratic Republic.

I know from my research that many of this series were made elsewhere other than Germany...those are not the best...but this is one manufactured by Zeiss...such an unusual spec too....it is just right for Street Photography on my M 4/3 rds LUMIX GX8.....

These were taken this afternoon and early evening in relatively poor light...the colour rendition is amazing.

That is a nice rendering Fuji.  The primes are very vibrant but what strikes me is that skin tones are very accurate also.  They are a bit blue/magenta in the last image but is almost certainly the reflected light from the flower.

FUJI I'm always surprised by how many street photo's you manage to do, week in and week out..... I'm pretty sure you must have photographed almost everyone in Kenilworth by now....

Noooo ! Hundreds to go yet. ?

Seriously though......Being born and raised here means that I can’t avoid seeing folks I grew up with or have worked for.....I rarely take shots of them, unless they are doing hand-stands or somersaults etc.....the town grew greatly during the post-war and after.....and it is about to build lots more social and private housing.....a rugby and a cricket club are selling their land, for this...they will play on pitches rented from the District Council

The population must be four or five times bigger than when I were a lad.

Thursday....market day, plus various events, bring in outsiders....also ...our branch of Waitrose/John Lewis is a draw for fans if the brand, like myself.

TIPF QUESTION......Are Korky BP and Phil hiding somewhere ? Or, have they all lost their photographic mojo ?
