A big Robber Fly.....

He flew in to a shady spot just at the front of the house, just as we were letting the dogs out, so I had to try. I noticed that he had brought his evening meal with him too!:

That is ‘orrible Kobione, the kind of fly that nightmares are made of....makes me very glad that insects, bugs and spiders can’t develop any larger than they already do.

OMG we are all doomed if they ever grow this big haha.  I do love my macro shots, and think you have taken this one beautifully.  Great detail and nice and sharp in the right places.

Thanks all - it was about one and a half inches long and seemed to be 'seeking the shade' like every other living thing at the time. This was just taken with my TZ as a grab shot, I went back inside to get the P900, which does give me better macro shots and.........gone!
