I just did 7 and a bit miles tonight around the quiet lanes near my place.  Keeps me fit. :)  I find it quite therapeutic but I do avoid busier roads.

The cyclist in this image is 76 years old.

I'll echo what's already been said, it's a shame there wasn't just a little detail in the sky.

The light was intense so I think this was always going to be my lot.  I do agree with you but I guess that's the way it was.

It certainly wasn't a criticism, and probably explains the mono conversion.

I know you are not criticising Phil.  I am ok with what you are saying.  ?

I decided on the conversion because of the range of tones from the bright sky to the dark and varying shades on the ground.  The shadows of the posts and the cyclist all played out in my choice for mono.

The cyclist is my partners father. We bumped into him tending the vineyard. When he set off back up the hill I saw the shot in the making.  I just waited until he reached that nicely lit tarmac.  Click.
