Sign writing was a very specialist art .... Not many people have those skills now with computerised fonts and transfers  used  instead ... That is a lovely example of it Kev ....beautifully captured and processed .

I wouldn't want to bring back everything from the good old days but this image evokes a strong feeling of nostalgia. Lettering is gorgeous (obv) but the wood grain is also very pleasing. Monochrome gives the shot a 'Brief Encounter' feel.

I do like this image, some of the first paid jobs I did after leaving college was doing calligraphy and hand done sign writing, so I appreaciate the skills involved in doing this - and not just once...
