THE PLAYER OF SPOON TOONS

FUJI

Recommended Posts

I was very privileged to meet the most amazing man today...........he was one of the Street Buskers.....aftr he had finished one of his clickety-clackety sessions, he was only too pleased to chat to my shooting pal...it was then that I was able to shoot these candid portraits.

He was both funny, and sincere, we heard most of his story.

Later I spotted him dozing in the shade of a tree by the river...he even had the time to give me the...Thumb's Up...then.

One of the joys of a visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon....you never know what might appear.

I'm still sorting over 200 shots.

That's a great shot, a face full of character - reminds me of Joseph Egger who played The Prophet in Segio Leones For A Few Dollars More - he's the character that Clint Eastwood goes to find out about Lee Van Cleefs character (Colonel Douglas Mortimer).

I really like these FUJI.  The spoon shot is awesome.  All 3 are well framed.  Good exposures with nice detail and tones. Number 3 is stunning and certainly amongst the best street portraits I have seen on here.

Thank you all.....

Many street buskers can become aggressive or refuse to chat if a camera is pointed at them.....this incredible character was totally involved with his small but enthusiastic audience of all ages ..... he really ....grooved?.....to his music, his spoons moved like lightning  accompanied by incredible facial expressions and hand gestures.....he has incredibly blue eyes, and looks folks straight into theirs.

I received a smiling nod of approval, when I indicated my camera, then made a donation.......after that and whilst changing CDs we had time for a chat, about the difference between playing the bones compared with spoons. He gave us a little of his back story, then waded straight in to his next session.

The portraits are totally unposed or devised, he was chatting away to my shooting pal, I held my camera low and shot, blind, in silent mode so shutter noise  didn't distract him ...I will post the colour version of the last portrait later, it should give you an even better insight into his character.

I just like my mono studies, the best of which are going into a 200 page Blurb Book, as my archive......a lot safer than computer drives and the Cloud etc.

i much appreciate the observations comments ..... Thank You.
