A few from Newport Essex.

Had a wander around this very picturesque Essex Village on Sunday. Newport was a stop on the A11 London to Norwich road for the Coaches and horses in days gone by. Just to the north is the splendid Jacobean Treasure house of Audley End.

Hi Denis,

'I don't normally go for architectural shots, but yours here have the particular clarity of perfect exposure and presentation.

Audley End House is a particular favourite of mine, because, I used to work their as the Tudor Toymaker for English Heritage  fairly often, I have spent quite a few nights sleeping inside, I know the building particularly well.

At other times, we stayed B&B in Saffron Walden close by.

We could not get closer to the house on Sunday as the BBC were filming an episode of Antiques Roadshow there on the day. But am very interested to learn that you know this wonderful old building well! Saffron Walden is another fine town too, i might have a wander there in a few weeks.

Just  caught up with these Denis .... I agree with Fooj... a very nice set  of quality images ... It's a long time since I  have been there...

The carving under the window  looks really good too....
