This type of photography is not my usual thing, I joined a group of guys from the PBase site that I use and spent most of Saturday in Hereford with them. Are these shots any good... not much comment on them so far so I guess they are not much good. If that is the case I'll know not to bother taking street scenes in future.

When it comes to street photography I don't believe there is such a thing as a shot that is 'no good'. To me all the shots here have merits in that you're capturing a moment in people's lives, people most of us don't know and most likely never will. Some may argue that a B&W conversion is in order but for me that isn't an issue.

If I had to choose a favourite it would be no.4. I find the chap with the carrier fascinating.

The good thing about having an articulating live view LCD screen is you don't appear to be taking a shot of anyone, I kept the camera low enough to look like I was just viewing shots that I'd already taken...

Without street photography like this, those of us who will probably never get to visit these old cities would never know what the places are like. I have travelled all over the UK, but rarely ever got to see the nice parts, just the Industrial estates. So to me its double bubble, we get to see your photography and the City of your county!

I love to see the different places where all the members live, t'would be a colder more clinical forum if all that was on show were the arty farty stuff!

Your street scenes are well seen (forgive the pun)................... But to me, you appear to have hit a middle point, between recording beautiful old streets and what has the potential to be excellent Street Photography.....for the latter you need to get closer to your subjects or record them doing something.......your best example of that here is...That man with the carrier bag and the lady in the UGG Boots:
