Not quite with it this morning Colin... I misread your comment first time round as,

" very summery, NoT for me".     And thought ... Ouch .....   Ok ... Not everyone's cup of tea..maybe they are a bit twee but  it's a bit blunt!.  :ouch:     Then I re read it.... Doh  -it's No 1 for me ! ..........  So thanks Colin ;) :)

Very nice series Polly!

I particularly like the first and last images... you probably know already I love butterflies and the Peacock is my favourite species... :yes

You   like butterflies John? Who'd have guessed that eh?:yes:laughing:

This particular Peacock allowed me to take about 40  shots while on the same flower at Trentham Gardens up in Stoke last week . I think I like the first one because of the angle and overall composition ... Even though it doesn't exhibit the lovely markings as well as the last one. Thanks for taking the time...

Have you already got your drill ready... Today's the day  you get the keys is it not?

Sorry Chris ...I've just seen your comment ...must have missed it earlier ... I'm just going to watch Wales Match so will get back to you regarding the processing ..Wasn't a lot.... in CS6  after  editing the RAW  file first .... catch ya later ...I'm so slow at typing    doh ...I can edit photos quicker than I can type ...lol

Thank you Fuzzy an Korky... you are very kind ... just for you Fuzzy...a quick clone :lol:summer-set-1sa.thumb.jpg.f37e16a407007c9

Thanks Judy... Afraid we didn't have the best summer for butterflies though I was lucky a couple of times .

Chris ...Did you want a general answer about my processing or specific details, which would obviously take up a fair bit of room on this thread . I could do a tutorial I suppose and post in the appropriate place but the numbers would vary with each photo.  I always shoot RAW plus a jpg ( 'cept the iPhone pics  eg :-

I only use Photoshop CS6 now for my editing ...what do you use ?

Hi Polly - I've rreplied to your PM

In general though, I find there are too many choices for PP. Global edits can be done in iPhoto, but for more layer-based work there is Elements 6 (which also has Topaz Adjust) and CS6 (which has Nik Efex). Then there is Perfect Effects 4 (rarely used), PhotoDirector 4 (ditto) and DxO FilmPack 3, which I do use from time to time. Too much choice stultifies the brain!!

Thank you both Nanny and Kobione .... Kind of you to comment... and I'm glad you're happier Fuzzy, with the offending dead head removed....;)

Flippin 'eck Chris ...Spoilt for choice comes to mind ...Just got back from a wet walk with the camera...mostly leafy lanes, the odd peek at the Severn and a lone fisherman  Delete 270 and keep 30 methinks ...

I was actually referring to PP choices! 'Chance would be a fine thing' when it comes to shooting choices...
