Well I would not have known that Rye... Obviously  a novice in hoverfly identification....it's a really sharp image of the nearside ...I haven't got a lens that will get that amount of detail up close   but not sure I would use a macro lens very often so very undecided about making the investment ..

Thanks Clicker. To be honest bug macro has a short window of opportunity during the year, you need good light and no wind ideally....

An excellent macro study of one of Nature’s clever mimics.

My LUMIX GX9 is due to be delivered today.... after an initial trial run to see what it can do generally, I intend to make it my permanent DIY Lens and Vintage Lens cameras.

That means settings on my GX8 and it, won’t require faffing with too often... the GX9 has new street photography features to, including an incredible mono filter thar equals the Leica one.

The reviews for the GX9 are mixed.... Panasonic got it slightly wrong so it is a bit of a hybrid that requires a thinking owner.

Back to the subject here.... Expect to see some of my quirky/Arty macro studies from my DIY lenses very soon.
