Just a small part of one at Helmshore Textile Museum....

It was interesting to see this running, this was just a small part of one bank, of which there were 4. This one bank doing 2 draws would produce a mile and a half of cotton yarn....

An interesting place Geoff.  Spent an interesting afternoon there a couple of years ago.  I wanted to record what I could before Lancashire County Council closed the place.  Since reprieved after the last election thank goodness.

An interesting contraption!

I remember learning about "Hargreaves' Spinning Jenny" in my history lessons at school.  The Wikipedia page you linked to says the Mule was a cross between the Spinning Jenny and Arkwright's Water Frame, hence the name "Mule".
