The Mill on the Stort. Re-edits in Topaz

Recommended Posts

The history of Parndon Mill goes back some time, mentioned in the Domesday Book, Successive buildings have stood on the site. It was milling flour from the grain grown on the rich farmland around for a very long time. Flour can be very combustible and there have been numerous fires over the years. In 1897 fire totally destroyed the mill. Construction on the current building was completed by 1900. A flat turbine mill wheel was installed in 1904 and is still in position in the wheelhouse, but  in 1960 when the well respected miller Neville Smith died It fell into disuse and became derelict for many years until its resurrection as a local arts centre by the current owners.

I can see why the majority are drawn slightly more to the second image Denis,  but like Monomania ( erm ... whom I was lazily going to refer to  as Mm for short then realise it looked like I was just saying ,”Hmmm  without the “h” ?), I rather prefer the first   with your strategic POV  catching the sunburst and it’s reflection on the  edge of the water . . .
