DIF, or Duck in flight

Two very fine examples of a difficult subject .... birds in flight are usually only as good as this as a result of patience and a commitment to the craft of capturing motion...   I think some of us would be interested in the details Mike ... excellent stuff .

The first one in particular, is a great capture.  The satisfying thing about the second is that the focus is spot on - easy.  Is it much of a crop or full frame?

This is the pre-crop frame with just shadows lifted a little, i didn't think you meant easy

Thanks, i dont know what to tell you, first i would say remember its digital and not film so a low keeper rate sometimes is no problem, try for at least 1/1600th of a sec, if possible dial in exposure compensation which depends on subject, light and camera metering system.

Most of the time i use manual with auto iso.
