JUPITER 11 MAGIC

I realise that BP and I bang on a bit about our Vintage lens collections, but the proof of the pudding as they say........

The Russian made JUPITER 11 or the Rocket-ship lens is something special and it takes a bit of taming and getting use to, especially as the minimum focal distance is 2,5 metres....a direct copy of a pre-war Zeiss Jenna lens as far as I re-call?

An obvious Portrait lens because of its colour rendering and ability to shoot a little soft if required.

Yes! The long and manual focusing make it a bit f a beast o get used to, but the rewards can be great, as seen here.

Look it up on YouTube and you will see why it is known as the Rocket-Ship lens....a beautiful bit of polished aluminium engineering.

They can be acquired for reasonable sums on eBay from trusted sellers.   adapters are easily available.

nice images. i still use my JUPITER 135 mm F4 non rocket type lens. its just one of those lens that i couldnt part with.
