I hadn't seen this image before - it's one of the most hilarious things I've seen! You really made my day with this one.
  2. There's a film on You Tube of a Zorki 4 getting similar treatment ... but also getting a digital sensor back to replace the film mechanism.
  3. Britain's largest parish church : Cirencester, Glos. (Kodachrome 25 on a Zorki 4).
  4. Microsoft engineer: "That's not just 'as good as' real life, it's better". Well ok, boys, it's not quite Think Different, but maybe you're getting there. One day...
  5. I know, I know. My PowerBook 3400 was reduced from £4000 but still cost me £1500 in 1998. And frustratingly, the stupid thing still works.
  6. Presumably we shall need passports for Yorkshire, post-Brexit?
  7. Another thumbs up for the Mac. We just need Kev and BP to add reinforcements and we should have a full house.

  14. I think - from Kev's own post, and what he's posted often before - that he might have meant ships rather than boats, but widened it to "boats with engines" as some of us might not have any ship pictures? Luckily I did have one, and thanks to this competition I discovered it was the Sir Galahad!
  15. All I've got, I'm afraid (Still, it could have been worse - you could have chosen Napoleon... ) I've looked up the number on Google : apparently, that's Sir Galahad, a troop carrier and 'landing ships logistics' vessel. She was used in the Falklands where she was attacked. One of the survivors was Guardsman Simon Weston, who suffered horrific burns, had to have his face totally rebuilt and you've probably seen on TV. After that war, her hulk was towed out to sea and sunk, and is now an officially designated war grave. (Photographed at Liverpool docks in 1974).
  16. There seems to be a bug in the software? If you get notified there are new replies on another page (which there weren't!!) but you go ahead and post anyway, it looks like your reply hasn't gone through as it still sits there with the Submit Reply button active. So you press it again... For each press, the reply still (apparently) doesn't post, until you go to the 2nd page and see your replies, one for each button press! Can one of you Admin people kindly delete the duplicate post above? Many ta.
