  1. After watching the BBC4 documentary about the great Nic Jones, I thought I'd post this. Some may find it a bit of a challenge..... Korky

    POTW w/e 29/9/13

Yours is some of the best macro work I've seen. Well done! Korky
  3. The Olympus Trip - so good that in 2013 nobody wants it. I called in at a charity shop yesterday and even they weren't too keen on taking it. How things change! Korky
  4. Hello Steve - welcome to TIPF. I'm looking forward to seeing your work. Korky
  5. I can't believe Fuzzy thought it was a Japanese toilet. And........... What drugs made BP want to take a photograph of this in the first place. And........... Chris - You need stronger medication. This has been just a bit too surreal for me so I'm about to have a beer and watch summat on telly that deals with reality. The Eastenders omnibus perhaps. Korky Chris - just re-read your post and it's very clever. Thanks for brightening up my Sunday evening - I'm all for more humour and less discussion about bloody f-stops!
  6. Creative stuff, Barbara - very well done! Give this one a wazz as well, Shadowhouse Creations Korky
  7. Sorting through my late mother-in-law's possessions earlier today and found an Olympus Trip 35 camera. Is it of any use to anyone? It's in very nice condition and has the original lens cap. It's completely untested, though. Korky
  8. John When I was much, much younger I wouldn't have been caught dead with a Hank Marvin track playing. Now I've grown up, I realise what a great guitarist he was. If you haven't already, check out Mark Knopfler's album with Emmy Lou Harris - "All The Roadrunning'. On YouTube no doubt. Such a great pity about Knopfler's headband!!!! Korky

    Self Portraits

Tidying up some of Mrs K's holiday snaps last night, this turned up. It's yours truly posing with a door designed for a much shorter human being. And..... it's all your getting. Korky

    POTW 15/09/13

John At the risk of repeating myself, I'm always in awe of the skill and patience needed to produce images as good as this. Congratulations, it's a very worthy POTW. Korky
  11. I've won the Nigerian National Lottery seventeen times. Must remember to pick up my winnings sometime. Korky

    Site speed test

I have a very speedy Virgin Media web connection but I find that TIPF is sluggish most of the time. Earlier this evening (around 7.00pm) it was very bad and I gave up and came back later. Korky
  13. Some excellent ideas and suggestions there - thanks very much. Korky
  14. This relates to either CS4 or Photoshop Elements 11 (which I now use almost exclusively). When a sample has been taken withe the clone tool, is it then possible to rotate that sample in order to rebuild missing bits in a photo restoration? I'm currently working on a photo that has bits of emulsion missing and needs to have some facial features rebuilt. Thanks in advance. Korky
  15. Excellent stuff. I just love the image of the Armenian woman posing with the woodland in the background. It has a vey eerie feel about it. Korky

    POTW 8/9/13

Here I am - bright and breezy. Sorry I'm late, but matron doesn't undo the straps till eight fifteen. BP - Thank you so much, it's great to get a pat on the back from someone whose opinions and work I respect. I appreciate that my style of photography is a bit rough and ready, a bit cheap and cheerful and a bit lacking in the technical department, but therein lies its charm - some see it, some most certainly do not. Korky
  17. Fooj - I've been swooped on by the jobsworths as well and so I know how frustrating it is, but..... Is it really worth turning this into an issue? Why not put it down as a minor blip, ignore the shopping centre in future and just get on with enjoying life and the hobby you love so much? I've learned much over the last months - and something I've come to realise is that life is far too short for getting wound up over minor things - I know you don't think this is minor, but look at it calmly and you'll realise it doesn't amount to much. You were asked not to take photographs, is that such a big deal? Shrug your shoulders and walk away. I hope that doesn't push you further over the edge, Fooj - think of the blood pressure! Korky

    POTW 1/9/2013

This would've been my choice too - a super image! Very well done! Korky
  19. Astro imaging sounds very interesting - looking forward to seeing some er........ astro images. Welcome to TIPF! Korky

    POTW 25/08/13

So I log in to see what's won POTW and I'm fully expecting it to be 'Rex'. I've even got a witty comment all prepared and then I see this and I'm gobsmacked. This image, the items it contains and now the thumbs-up from you forum folk really do mean a lot. Thank you! Fooj - Matron's taken me off the senna pods. For the last month it's been chilli suppositories twice daily - they work a treat, but I'm forced to keep my undercrackers in the freezer. Korky
  21. Hello Paul - welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to seeing your work! Korky Hello Paul - welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to seeing your work! Korky
  22. A brilliantly clever video, but I only got to where the lad was about 14. I had to go for a wee and when I got back, the poor sod had grown up and left home. Probably sick to death of his father taking all those bloody photographs. Korky
