  1. Great woodworking and photography!
  2. Another great set of images Paul. A stupid question, but I've only ever seen the word written down - does Plover rhyme with 'lover' or 'rover'?
  3. Camera Club Practical Evening... Glass in front of a projected image. Close up looking straight down into a glass with a coloured light underneath and some strands of something stretched across with added water drops. Oil on water in a transparent tray, with wrapping paper underneath.
  4. Congratulations, Vanguard!
  5. Apologies for the delay in posting this week's POTW! There were several interesting images posted this week, but the one that took my eye was this one from CMunzel as I thought it was just so... different! Full thread (including a possible explanation) HERE. Well done, Cheryl!

    Hi

    Welcome to the forum, Richard!
  7. It's my turn to choose POTW again... There were several under consideration but the one I kept coming back to was "Sand and Solitude" by Clicker: I love the feeling of emptiness and space that Polly has captured here. If you haven't already done so, have a look at the full thread here and decide whether you prefer the colour or monochrome version! Well done, Polly! Gareth
  8. Congratulations, Ryland!
  9. It's my turn to choose POTW again and the stand-out image for me this week was this one of a German Airforce Tornado from Colin B: There are several excellent photos in the thread, which is well worth a look if you haven't already seen it. Click here. Well done Colin! Gareth
  10. A belated welcome to the forum from me too, Mark.
  11. I understand that they can. A few years ago we visited a butterfly centre (I think it was at Rutland Water) and I was wearing a red polo shirt, which several butterflies kept landing on. A member of staff correctly identified the brand of washing powder we used - apparently the smell made the butterflies think my shirt was a hibiscus flower!
  12. It's my turn to choose the POTW again... It was an easy choice for me this week as there was one standout image - a wonderful piece of imagination and creativity. So my pick for POTW is "So Sad" by VWGolf: Well done, Stella! Full thread here. Gareth
  13. Congratulations Andy (and Hazel?)
  14. I remember the old Batman series when they use to film them climbing up skyscrapers like that!
  15. I'm sure that boat in #3 was there when I was in 2004! They look good in B&W, Geoff - I don't think I ever considered doing a conversion on mine.
  16. It's my turn to choose the POTW again! There were three shots that particularly caught my eye this week, but I can only pick one of them, so... Honourable mentions to: Ryewolf for Eilean Donan Castle. and VWGolf for Never work with animals... But my choice for POTW is Black Shouldered Kite by CMunzel: Well done Cheryl! Full thread here.
