  1. Congratulations, Ryland!
  2. It's my turn to choose POTW again and the stand-out image for me this week was this one of a German Airforce Tornado from Colin B: There are several excellent photos in the thread, which is well worth a look if you haven't already seen it. Click here. Well done Colin! Gareth
  3. A belated welcome to the forum from me too, Mark.
  4. I understand that they can. A few years ago we visited a butterfly centre (I think it was at Rutland Water) and I was wearing a red polo shirt, which several butterflies kept landing on. A member of staff correctly identified the brand of washing powder we used - apparently the smell made the butterflies think my shirt was a hibiscus flower!
  5. It's my turn to choose the POTW again... It was an easy choice for me this week as there was one standout image - a wonderful piece of imagination and creativity. So my pick for POTW is "So Sad" by VWGolf: Well done, Stella! Full thread here. Gareth
  6. Congratulations Andy (and Hazel?)
  7. I remember the old Batman series when they use to film them climbing up skyscrapers like that!
  8. I'm sure that boat in #3 was there when I was in 2004! They look good in B&W, Geoff - I don't think I ever considered doing a conversion on mine.
  9. It's my turn to choose the POTW again! There were three shots that particularly caught my eye this week, but I can only pick one of them, so... Honourable mentions to: Ryewolf for Eilean Donan Castle. and VWGolf for Never work with animals... But my choice for POTW is Black Shouldered Kite by CMunzel: Well done Cheryl! Full thread here.
  10. Thanks for the comments, everyone.
  11. Oh... I wasn't expecting that! Thank you very much.
  12. Two from Polperro and one from Mevagissey...
  13. Well done, Geoff. Trains do always seem to suit the monochrome treatment.
  14. It's my turn to choose the POTW again. There were plenty to pick from this week, including the usual insect macros from Paul and some interesting drone shots from khm. In the end I managed to narrow it down to two, before picking a favourite, so.... Honourable mention to khm for Buck-stones view. But my pick for this week is "And I Thought it was a Candid" by Fuji: I love the look on this lady's face as she realises she's being photographed. Well done Fuji! Full thread here.
  15. It's my turn to pick the POTW again. Plenty to choose from this week so... Honourable mentions go to: Fogey for Harvest Mice Lez325 for The Small Killer But my choice for POTW is this stunning capture of a resting bee by Paul: Full thread here. Well done Paul! Gareth
