  1. Umm sorry, I should have been a bit more specific: entries accepted until midnight Friday 30 March. This time zone business is a bit confusing. Good luck.
  2. The Weekly Challenge theme is "Peace". The theme is open to your interpretation. All images accepted old or new. Entries accepted until Friday 30 March UK time (or midday 31 March EST Australia) after which a poll will be set up for voting until midnight Friday 6 April. some very diverse interpretations of the theme, Peace, which is great. Voting now until Friday 6 April midnight. (UK time)
  3. Pity it was late, Clicker, cos it was my favourite. My partner, who is a collector of rusty objects, reckoned it was a top photo.
  4. I stopped to look it also. Fascinating. Good choice.
  5. Great to see photos of you all. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Correction: my new laptop is a HP. The shop I purchased from said they were moving away from selling desktops as laptops were just as powerful and more portable.
  7. Thanks BP and Fuji. I ended up purchasing a Dell laptop with a solid state drive. I decided on the laptop - over a desktop - on the advice of the salesperson with expertise in processing large files. Plan to connect it to the 27 monitor I forked out for 6 mths ago. I'll set it up and see about calibrating it.
  8. Thanks heaps, BP. I was thinking along these lines so it really helpful to have you confirming what I've picked up from reading reviews. Only one question, what a profiler thingy?
  9. Thanks for the encouragement. I just ordered one on eBay. See how I go. Don't think I'm "cack handed" (though not sure what that means). Is that like being clumsy?
  10. Any suggestions on buying a desktop PC for photo editing for under $1000 AU?
  11. Thanks for the advice about sensor cleaning. My Nikon 7100 seems to have a spot. I'd been reading about DYI cleaning but was worried about causing harm. Think I'll have a go.
  12. Great topic. Thought we'd get some images of people who had consumed too much alcohol: a very common scene in Australia. Maybe not so common in the UK?
  13. Great choice of monument and well captured, Simon.
  14. Windows. Old or new, especially taken, or from your archives. Entries from now until midnight Friday the 24th February. Voting will commence on Saturday 25th February until Friday 3rd March.
