  1. I like your choice of composition.
  2. Very nice contrast of the big against the orange leaf. I’ve never one of their faces up close.
  3. Great sky with these yellows. Cold?
  4. Lovely colours. Very nice.
  5. Amazing details. Hover flies are tiny here in Australia so I assume they are tiny there too.
  6. How interesting. I’ve never seen these before. #4 is my favourite with the moon. Would look good in mono too, IMHO.
  7. Great set. I like studies of interiors with windows like these. Have you considered converting #1 to mono?

    Snowdrops

Thanks clicker. I entered it in our monthly mono competition and the judge suggested a lighten the stem so it is more visible. I think it was a good suggestion and will act on it.
  9. Great to see you posting, Fuji. The change in perspective being lower is interesting. I used a Hasselblad with top down viewfinder to do a series of environmental portraits sometimes at ground level. The learning from that lower view and square format have influenced my photography since.

    Snowdrops

I've been thinking about style. A French painter, Titus Meeuws, clarified this for me when he said, " Style is not a choice, it's the result". Most of my favourite images are what people call minimalist. This study of snowdrops is in keeping with this.
  11. Sure, I love how the photos posted reflect the seasons. Here is Australia we have Spring in full but pretty soon the hot winds will dry everything out in a matter of days.
  12. Ok, thanks for the explanation....I learn....
  13. My choice for POTW this week is an interesting mono photo by homer2067 called The Wife. Clever rim lighting capturing the face with exhaled tobacco smoke. I have mixed feelings about the smoking but love the photo.
  14. Beautiful place. I love the sculptures.
  15. Great set. Would be quite a spectacle to watch.
  16. What’s going on there? Do people shoot shotguns off to scare the birds away?
  17. Looks like great day of steam. I showed my partner who is a steam enthusiast and he wished he was there. I really like number 2 for its composition.
  18. Lovely to see the fungi as Autumn settles in.
  19. Different. Well done! Dare I ask if your wife was happy with the photo?
  20. Interesting composition with the reflection forming a circle with the bridge. Lovely colours.
  21. Interesting creature. Is a Pale Tussock a caterpillar?
  22. Thanks so much for selecting this image this week, Paul, and thank you to all of you for your positive comments. It’s always a pleasure to win pic of the week.
