Hello Dave ... Good to see a new face .... ...I've been here for just three months ... 'Tis a friendly place where I have found folk are helpful and humorous, two traits that make for very good forum ! I've loitered and lingered a little and learned a lot... .

What an achievement ... and how satisfying to do all that after his illness .. I bet feeling proud doesn't even come close to how you must all feel . Hats off to Jason !!

You can of course reduce the file size by excluding EXIF data ....Sometimes I find that that is a better option than compressing the image and degrading the subsequent image for viewing , especially if there is a ceiling for the file size allowed .

Just accept it Chrissy ...and pay it forward one day by helping someone else out when the moment arises ... It's things like this that make the world go round ..I love it ...and I'd bet money on the fact that the chap who gave it to you is feeling great too.. If you can't pay it back ...pay it forward .. I once watched a brilliant film about the whole concept , called "Pay it forward " with Kevin Spacey... you can watch it on youtube ... It is inspiring though isn't it ? Renews one's faith in humanity ..

Hi Chrissy ... I agree with Paul about trying to use natural light whenever possible ..I have used lights in a home made studio in the past with various bits of card...I found this clip on you tube which might give you a few ideas ..
