  10. Hi Kev7d,

I'm still wondering if it's at all possible to edit a post once it's been submitted.

    Thanks,

    Tony

      Hi Tony

At the bottom of each post there is an icon that looks like a cog. Hover it and it says options.  The edit menu is there.

  11. Desperately trying to find some photography inspiration.

  12. A new avatar  to reflect my new workspace :)

  13. Avatar change,

ah! 1971, those were the days :)

  14. You can do this Chris, just update your Safari or get another browser that does work, dont give up.

  15. I will say 'hope you are well' but I daresay you are apart from being shaken up by the accident. So glad you have a dash cam and have recorded it all. The car can be replaced, you cannot, so don't worry about the car, it did its job and protected you and that is the only thing to consider Polly.

I can do upwards of 80000 miles a year, yes eighty thousand, and I can tell you that the standard of driving in the UK is at an all time low. No one, just no one seems to have time or an ounce of consideration for other raod users today. I have three years left on the road and I can honestly say I cant wait for the day to finish seeing the inside of a lorry cab for the last time!

Recover from your bruises and shock :doc: pour a glass of wine and raise it to those who built that vehicle that took the damage rather than you!

Hope your weekend gets better Polly :)

    Denis.

Aw Thanks Denis .. I ve just  come back on the forum ..ther's been so much to do ... It wasn't my dash cam ... though i had bought one three days before  and was planning on installing it that weekend .  The car behind the offending car had the dash cam operating ...if you send me your email address I'll send you a copy ...  it's horrendous and I'm having even more trouble than usual sleeping ...keep getting flashbacks ... Anyway I appreciate  your message ... thanks ... Glad you had such a great meet at York too

       cheers

      Polly

Hello Polly, Dropbox or email will work

      wartime.airfields@gmail.com has the Dropbox account,

      or email to denissharp4654@gmail.com

Glad you are doing OK, I still get flashbacks now and again from just seeing a horrific fatal accident several years ago.  I watched it all unfold in front of my lorry  and powerless to be able to do anything apart from position myself in the road to stop others passing me and being involved too.

Being in something like that accident thankfully has not taken place.

      Regards,

      Denis.

  16. Hello Colin,

Thanks for the comment, My number is 01279 831146 (virgin landline) I am in Wednesday evening, I will only be briefly at Mablethorpe to stay overnight on Friday so I can be in York early enough Friday. The wife thinks I'm mad to drive to York for just a day, so persuaded me to stay at her mums overnight to break the journey.

Unfortunately I am away in the Truck Thursday night in Manchester, so I have to drive down Friday (hate the M6 on a Friday!!) unload, get home, shower, grab my gear together and get up to Mablethorpe about 9.30PM. But having said that, I have often fancied a wander around Lincoln one day with a camera!

Hi Denis - now there's a marathon trip and heres me staying at home!.

To be honest we are out of the UK from early Wednesday for a week so York was going to be a problem the Saturday before. But let me know next time you are up this way and Lincoln or even Mabo would be a pleasure.

I will give you a call one Wednesday evening but not before the 29th.

have a great day tomorrow and say high to a few members for me.

      Colin

I certainly will Colin, have a good trip, going to have to do Home to York, up and down in a day due to being later home today than I wanted...plus I am a tad too tired tonight.

      Regards,

      Denis.

  17. Think you need to edit the tower bridge on , you put Roger instead of Jack

Ooh - yes, sorry - too much going on atm. Thanks Roger,  Dee.

  18. Just thought I'd let you know, I took possession of my shiny new Wacom Tablet today. Now all I've got to do is learn how to drive it. Thanks for your help and interest.

  19. Why do external HDD's have LED lights on them and even more annoyingly why do they flash when accessing data? Black tape might ruin the rather pleasing alloy housing but if it stops the damn thing glowing like a demented Darlek it shall have to be done.

  20. Chased around the M25 this afternoon by a Bulgarian articulated truck, headlights and hooters at me from behind at my (and his!) legal speed of 56 mph, he eventually came past me and must have been doing 72mph by the way he left me behind!

Both of us must have been around the 44 ton mark, bloody foreigners!

  21. Phil - what is wrong with your door? Most of what is shown can be replaced. Any makers names or logos on the locking system? The company I currently work for repair and stock a lot of older door/window parts, more photos might help but I could pass this onto one of the staff?

if you do get it repaired the lock barrell should not really stick out like that on the outer-side of the door, makes it easier for burglars to have a go at snapping the lock.

  23. Every day in every way I'm getting better and better, honest!
