My last two pictures from 2014, a stunning evening in the truly White Peak.

Here's to 2015, Happy New Year to you all.

A515 North of Ashbourne; truly bitter - I was shivering uncontrollably when I got back in the van after maybe 10 minutes - perhaps I should have put a fleece on but the light was fading fast.

I wonder what the motorists and their passengers made of you, as if dressed for the summer standing by the road at minus whatever taking photos!

I'm glad you did though, I for one have learned a lot from your wonderful images and now try to get the best light I can. My results are never the same... but I enjoy trying :)

On this occasion I think they were too astounded to respond but on past occasions I have had the two fingered wave, horns blaring and abuse shouted out of the window when shooting passing motorists!

Many thanks for your kind comments Denis. The great thing about photography is that there is always something more to learn. Greatest thing is to learn to make a mental check-list of the things to do before each shot;

e.g.

Shutter speed (Tripod?)

Apeture

iso

focus

Filters

Flash

I still find myself messing things up for failing on one point or another - perhaps i should commit this to a written blog not to help it sink in for me?

Happy New Year!
