Coming back to these this morning I have realised that my favourite is the frame featuring the kIngfisher in the twisted pose................. with all the water drops adding to the very real sense of movement and drama?

Hi

Great set of Photos

Not going to as where these where taken. for obvious reasons but was wondering if you still need a licence to photograph kingfishers like you used to.  Or has that all changed nowadays.

Hi Paul, a licence is required if you wish to photograph near or next to a nest site during breeding season which is obtainable through natural England. I think you have to provide adequate proof that you can enter an area without causing disturbance etc but to photograph fledged and adult birds away from the nest site is perfectly fine
