Among the Fields of Gold... (More strings to my bow then...)

Drive on from Dent & Dent Railway, Dentdale in North Yorkshire for about 15 miles or so, and you'll find the village of Muker - the place of fantastic wildflowers in the summer, and the wonderful stone byres synonymous with the Yorkshire Dales.

The weather was not as bright and sunny as I had hoped, and the wind got up quite a bit more than I expected it too as well, but still, a lovely walk through the flower filled countryside took place... Here you will see the splendid scenery, some rabbits and sheep, and the last couple are of an Muker Man, long beard, weather-beaten face and comfy country clothing, and the idyllic, albeit poor looking cottage in which he resides, in the village of Muker.

This little village 20 miles or so east of Ingleton attracts thousands of visitors annually, with the sole purpose of walking down the paths between the fields of gold.

Buttercups, clover, wildflowers & Byres

The locals have been there as long as the hills themselves it seems...

Very nice, very picturesque set of pictures Paul, well worth the visit.

One teensy thing - was it not possible to risk a bit of diffraction and close down to get those foreground stones in focus on #6? (I really miss the old DOF Preview button on modern cameras..).

Image #6 was taken deliberately at f/4.5 Colin, and I focused on the byre in the distance, to have that in focus, and to make sure that the wall was out of focus. It was planned that way.

Lovely set all round, Paul.

Thank you Tina  :)

It's Chris

Hope you don't me saying - to my eyes it would be better if the foreground stones were in focus (but we all have different opinions on what makes a good shot :) )

I live in Lancashire, and all we have are weeds over here...  :)

Paul.

Apart from the Ribble Valley, the Forest of Bowland, Pendle Hill, Rossendale, Rivington Pike, Clitheroe, Parbold, Darwen, Ashurst Beacon, Lord Leverhulme's estate, and so on...
