A Blot on the Landscape...

Korky

Recommended Posts

Walking in the Pendle area at weekend, Mrs K and myself emerged from a thicket to be confronted by this vision of Clitheroe cement works.

Yes, it's ugly. Yes, it's an enormous blot on a beautiful Lancashire landscape (that's Pendle Hill in the background surrounded by low cloud), but there's something about it that I like.

Korky, I don't know what you've done here but I reckon you have found a magic wand, or a smatterin' of Pendle witchery to process this............you have got it absolutely spot on.

Mood. Atmosphere, tones and textures.

One to hang in the Parlour at Korky Towers methinks?

I suspect it looks a whole lot better in your HDR than it does in real life Korky!

So do the photographs on a Little Chef menu - real life's a bit dull sometimes.

Thanks for the comment, Chris, always appreciated.

Never really done mono, Korky, but I reckon this version would have a whole lot more impact than a colour one. The mono really suits the slightly 'from another era' look of the place!

Thanks all for the comments and 'likes'.

This image, btw, was shot on Mrs K's tiny Sony compact. I'd neglected to take a camera out with me and had to grovel for a brief loan of hers.
