A PLEASANT SURPRISE

I've just had a pleasant surprise.......................I am a member of another (large, international) photography forum .....mainly because the huge amount of daily posts enable me to recognise the cliche's, the boring, and the snaps...but best of all the odd masterpeice....it is an excellent learning tool.

Just now I was idling through my site portfolio counting votes that my efforts have received during the last three years....I was more than surprised to see that this shot came second.

It was taken with the 5mp camera on my HTC TROPHY smartphone running Windows 7, I used a mono App to process it, in phone....I too was pleased with the result, but didnt expect it to attract the attention it did.

The subject is the (rare African?) Acacia Tree and the track leading to riding stables off our back lane, a scene I pass every time I leave the house so hardly gets a look:

Don't worry folks...I will always be loyal to cozy-homely-warm-welcoming-funny but serious TIPF:

im not sure why but it reminds me a little of aunt ems farm in wizard of oz lol

seriously though its a very beautiful image ... lovely compostion and great tones. Have to agree with the others that it does look like an old contstable painting. I would be very interested to see a colour version ? maybe processed to look like an oil ?
