Unidentified insect Australia

This insect found its way inside and was very immobile, so I set it on the edge of a wooden spoon and took some macro photos of it last night using twin flash. the side view is a single shot and the front view a stack of 5 photos.

The contrast between the black background and light subject threw Photoshop's auto stacking function off and the results were pretty bad with lots of flare. The front view is the best of them.

I put the insect in a cloth bag so I could resume today but it had escaped overnight is now lerking somewhere in my house. It has plenty of insect company with the elm tree beetles that "overwintered" (as the elm tree beetle treatment guy described it) in my roof space and crawled out with the warmer weather this week.

Cleonis pigra (I think) which has a common name of thistle weevil.

There's a lot of weevils making them sometimes hard to ID, but this is distinguished by a double V pattern on the elytra.
