Discarded Nets on the Shore & other Arnside Landscapes Today

On the shore at Arnside itself, there are some old finishing nets just lying around. Looks like they have been there for years, though on the half-dozen visits I have probably made to this village, it's the first time I have seen them.

Hi Paul, glad to see you made it up to see Arnside, it truly is a beautiful place. The nets aren't fishing nets, they were part of a scheme to protect the new turf that was laid after a major pipeline project.

Ah - that explains it then. They are very high up on the bank though. They just look discarded!
