You seem to have had a lot of success growing them since you moved to your bungalow  5 or 6 years ago John...   the flipping muntjacs, rabbits and squirrels eat  any plants  that are soft stemmed and  bulbs  in  any part of my garden unless it's  within 10-15 feet of the house ! Consequently   I rarely grow perennials any further afield and have to depend on  woody shrubs  for colour  ..It's a constant battle !!  The  fencing doesn't deter them  either ... ! I 've had to resort to scarers that emit high frequency  noise to   stop them and badgers digging up my lawns ... ... Much as  I love to see the wild life and share the planet with them  it can  be galling when you 've planted 600 crocus and tulip bulbs and find most of them have  been eaten by squirrels before  the Spring!  I have found a number of plants rabbits don't eat   but the list is a lot shorter than the ones that they  do eat !🤨
