Pasting Text From Word

Hi all,

 

I tried posting my first main post just a few moments ago.

 

As I would usually do - I prepared my text in MS Word (since it helps me to avoid the spelling and grammar typos through trying to go too fast.)

 

I came to paste it into a new topic box and I couldn't get it to paste in.

 

I used each of the paste icons in turn to see if that would  work. I also tried Ctrl V - to no avail.

 

Any frequent poster be able to help me out with this please?

I use a Mac rather than a Windows PC, but I just tried to paste text into this reply (used Ctrl V) and it worked fine.

 

I got a smaller font, but other than that all was OK.

works for me too. Can't help further unfortunately.

There's a little square box top let above the the text box. Try clicking that and see if lights up. If the whole thing at the top is greyed out, then you can't use the extra's.
It's a long shot but it might work.

I've just checked and there is a paste from word icon second from the right on the top row.
I notice that you have already tried the icons, but were they greyed out as i mentioned above as I had problems using the smilies once because of this and I hadn't noticed.

If it's anything, it's a Word problem - funny how the word processor we all rely on causes so many problems

I have just typed this response out in MS word (for the Mac) and copied and pasted it into the text box, hopefully it will turn out ok

Ditto – this was typed in Word (ancient – Office for Mac 2000 lol) , then pasted.

using kingsoft writer if you can see this it works 

on this as well 

 

After uncollapsing toolbar small arrow extreme right and clicking paste icon,top row next to last icon it worked

Welcome to the forum, nice place Burscough used to call on a small engineering business there. I use a little Text app called Metapad like Notepad but with a few more bells and whistles. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/metapad.html

 

It's got an 'Always on top' function choice and it doesn't format any text.

Interestingly - when I turn the "lightswitch" in the top left hand corner off - it allows me to paste - but otherwise it doesn't! No idea what's going on there - but clearly a problem with my computer

very strange and difficult to work out whats causing it when I can't replicate the problem, wish I could offer more advice

Joe are you using Windows 7 ? Any problems I get on TIPF always seem to be when using my wifes laptop which runs Win7.
