A nasty shower

I had to go into Leicester today to collect my van after a service. We encountered this snow shower on the way.

We just had blizzards for half an hour in Manchester..

we had snow at sea level but it has stopped now, just a light covering.

It looks a bit dodgy to drive in. It was quite sudden, wasn't it?

Our snow shower melted on impact.

I can remember trying to push my car out of the driveway in Devon after an overnight dumping of snow. Ah! Those were the days.

They promise us 40 odd degrees today. Batten down the hatches!

I remember my dad digging 6ft of snow drift away from our back door and then us kids having to walk to school in three feet of snow and they close the schools now.
I guess that's partly because teachers travel further to work these days.
When I went to school a lot of the teachers lived nearer and those whose teachers couldn't make it had to go into a different class.

Only a big iron boiler for heating and drying clothes too.
It seems hard by today's standards, but they were good days and I loved my childhood.
