First Moon photo with the big lens.

It's white and black - and 50 shades of grey no doubt - but this is the first photo I have done of the moon with the Sigma 150-500 lens. (Took 2, but this is the 2nd actually, first I didn't use a cable release and was a touch softer.

 

1/60th @ f/6.3 at ISO 200

That's a beautiful photo of the moon, very sharp detail, I love it !

Colin - I used to have a telescope when I was 10, but that lasted weeks before I got bored. Stargazing never got into my bloodstream, so the moon shot was like as not the first time that I have had any "interest" for decades, lol...

When it comes to shots of the moon there ain't no substitute for length.

 

One thing I've noticed is just how fast the moon moves (well the earth spins) when you stick a big lens on your camera.

 

Robin - you're so right. Even as I lined up the camera, I really did see the moon cross the viewfinder slowly from left to right. I was amazed at its speed.
