Macro Attempt

Jon

Recommended Posts

My brother got me some extension tubes at xmas, so at a loose end tonight I saw the dog asleep and thought I'd have a go.  Standard flashgun, , focus by swaying backwards and forwards, and a bit of guesswork (room will be dim if I put more lights on, but I didn't).

any hints, tips and of advice welcome

Oh, she is lying on her back, snorking gently :-)

Strange subject, but well done you for excellent focussing......can I suggest that you make yourself a DIY snoot for your on-camera flash, just a card sleeve, carefully fixed to reflect your flash directly onto you macro subject, if the card alone doesn't work line it with kitchen foil......there are many designs on YouTube.

Settings for macro are usually ideal at 160 th f11-f16.

Let's have more please.

That's a shame. You could have got used to looking at it's nostrils lol.

My friend has just been given permission to have a small dog in her sheltered flat as they had not  been allowed up until now. She is over the moon and already looking in the dog rescues.
