Do you mind if I ask what, from your extensive arsenal, you used to capture this image? I know mine is a lower end camera, but I don't get anything like the vibrancy of colour that you've achieved.

Hi Brian.... I used my Canon EOS 60D and Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens.

Settings:  f/6.3  1/400th  ISO 640  at 270mm.

I have cropped the image a little.

Could it be Brian, that you have your camera set on a particular ......Film Type.....setting? I know that on all three of my cameras I can choose various modes, one at least is labelled VIBRANT.

Vibrancy can also be added during post processing ( essential if Shooting RAW) ........then again.....in this case it might have been the quality of light at time of shooting.

Thanks John for the prompt reply to my query and the info. This sounds like big boy's equipment to me!

And thanks to Fuji for the Vibrant control hint. Unfortunately my Nikon P520 doesn't support RAW so maybe we'll have to wait for an upgrade.

You can boost the saturation, either in-camera, or by using most image editors - even the simple ones like Picasa or iPhoto.

I love pigeons and pictures of them, and this is a particularly nice one.

I practice my bird focusing on the pigeons that come into the garden to feed from the bird feeding station.

For those who don't like them. I have only one answer. They are all Gods creatures and deserve to eat the same as the other wild birds and animals

. All are welcome in my garden.
