Boxing Day meeting of the Blankney Hunt 

 

One chance shooting as the Hunt passed by, and whilst I could have done with a little less bright sun light they didn't come out too bad?

'Fox hunting' is currently banned Leon - not hunting clubs.

There are hunters still hunting and breaking the law, Mr W.

I know what I would like to do to them!!   I would really like to shoot them too,and not with a camera either.

To be honest, I thought hunting was still legal if someone started it off by dragging a lump of raw meat through the countryside? That way, we get to see the pageantry of the hunt without the cruelty of a pack of dogs tearing apart a live fox.

Some may well do it that way Chris. I think it's called Drag Hunting, but there are still hunters doing it with foxes as the target.

That's not on.   Especially as pretty much most farmers hate that method of keeping foxes down.

killing an animal is illegal hunting, using the scent is not

I don't wish to turn this thread into a debate but in the UK there is far more illegal hare coursing, which everyone would like to see stopped, than hunts.

I can agree with that, Colin.  All hunting is cruel as far as I'm concerned, but as you said, we don't want to spoil your thread,so we will leave it at that, and just agree that the photography and the angles of these shots are really very good.

I'm on the anti-hunt side, but the first picture for me is the winner - the colours are fantastic and it has a very traditional look.
