This is the same slug I posted the other day. It was crawling with these tiny mites. Unfortunately this was the best shot to show the mites. Apparently they live on the slugs slime without causing it any harm. A'int nature wonderful

A brilliant capture. 
I never knew about these mites as I never get close enough to a slug to look, but I have noticed light coloured pits which I thought was just dusty stuff from them crawling around.

I was able to look at this without going cold as you have shot it without   showing the slugs face.

Never mind Heather, you have done me some damage! I have a phobia of slugs and snails since some kind ex friend chucked a shovel full over me as a kid. Even pictures or on the telly i have to turn it off. I am sure it's a good image but to be honest i didn't look for long!
