I hate these....

Earwigs are horrid. Ever since my big brother told me as a kid they climbed into your ear and went inside your head and ate your brains out!

 

Anyway, I still cringe when I try to photograph them...

lovely earywiggy...........I have never seen so many as I have this year, we even had tem in the house, lord knows where they was all coming from, there are still a few crawling around the garden now..

When I went to the Amazon I saw Centipedes at least 8 inches long.

A truly excellent macro shot that clearly shows how macro lenses restrict depth of field to a very small area......in this case, it helps to emphasise the earwig features and characteristics.

The local earwig football team had a striker who was inordinately proud of his Number 10 shirt. Until the day his mum washed it too severe and the '1' came off. The club couldn't afford a new shirt so he had to play in it.

 

At half time he stormed into the dressing room, stripped off his shirt and said, "There's no way I'm going out there for the second half. Everyone thinks a Zero striker is stupid. Sorry, I'm not playing".

 

His manager said "Don't be silly. They love you and your new number - listen".  

 

Sure enough the crowd was singing "Earwig-O Earwig-O Earwig-O-o-o-o-o-o-o".
