Tegenaria gigantica - House Spider...

Lives in the outhouse (there are 2 in there, but I couldn't get them close to each, so not sure of the sex of the second one) and this male just stared right back at me.

It  was on the second brick up from the ground, so I was laid on my side,  camera on a bean bag, using live view and manual focus. Flash mounted  with softbox on.

Why do spiders like this always look like they have more legs than eight, especially when they are heading for your cheese sandwhich

They love cheese I reckon. Lancashire, Cheddar, any sort. They just wanna sink their big strong fangs in to the cheese.

It looks like he is staring right back at you.    lol Well spotted.
It makes me wonder if these little bugs and creatures are looking at their own reflection in the glass as he seeems to ha.ve his eyes level with the lens.

He didn't even flinch when the flash fired. Just kept looking right back at the camera...
